"I am an independent filmmaker looking for a good camera and i found this. I bought it because it looked like it would be a good camera with high quality. I tried putting the clips onto my macintosh only to find out this camera has an MOD file format, which i had never heard of. So i ended up having to do editing in iMovie instead of using my advanced editing in Final Cut. well i did end up getting it to go into final cut but i have to go through and split my clips individually. And then i came across another problem as soon as i realized how terrible the video quality is on this thing. To this day i regret the purchase of it as it has caused many problems. So if you are looking for a cheap camcorder that shoots high quality or high definition then i would recommend the flip mino hd"

Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, Durable, Convenient
Cons: menu item a little confusing.

"The video camera works, great and meets my needs. Of course the taking pictures with this video recording turns out not very good pictures; but this is not the reason for purchasing. I purchased the video camera because of the HDD and it works PERFECT!"

"I bought this item thinking I can take decent pictures and and record some memorable moments of my kids growing up. However, unless the pictures are taken in bright sunlight they come out very dark and you can not see anything."

"I think the camera itself is very good. It's light weight and easy to use. I think the quality of the film is very good and the zoom is fantastic. The sound zooms in very good as well. I guess my only issues with the camera are: #1 there is no light on the front. It makes filming at night or in the dark virtually impossible. #2 the software that comes with the camera is very confusing to use doesn't offer a whole lot of editing features.

Other than these two things, we have been very pleased with our purchase."
