Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Exceeded expectations, Convenient, Easy to use

"After about a year of research, it was found, by many resellers, reviews and by others, that this is the T.V. to get. It was beyond all of my expectations. You really don't know until it is set up in your own home, that you've made the right choice. Even my "die hard" LCD Lovin friends are amazed with envy. Can't say enough!!!"

Truly Enjoy my TV Date: April 8, 2009
Pros: Exceeded expectations, Convenient, Easy to use

"I had researched my options, and Panasonic came highly rated albeit expensive. But well worth the extra dollars. Paired up with my Blu-ray player, nothing stands up to the picture quality and colours. Controls are very user friendly, took all of 5 minutes to set up for optimal enjoyment."

Great Product Date: February 1, 2009
Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, Easy to use
Cons: screen reflectivity

"My HD cable service hasn't been installed yet, but even on an old analog cable signal, the picture looks great.

No problems with setup -- worked like a champ right out of the box.

The only issue I'd note is a high degree of screen reflectivity, but I knew that would be the case with a plasma screen before I bought it.

Great TV, just a tad on the spendy side Date: January 23, 2009
Pros: excellent picture quality, great built-in sound, excellent tv for hi-def movies and games
Cons: Expensive

"This TV has excellent picture quality, great built-in sound, and all the options you need for a quality HD experience. My only real complaint is that it seems a bit pricey compared to other similar sets. So far it's been worth it though. My PS3 looks great on it, Hi-Def TV looks excellent, and Blu-Rays are amazing. Colors are bright and clear, darks are as black as I've ever seen, and the TV handles fast motion like a pro."

"I love it, The picture is amazing right out of the box. I looked at every LCD, plasma TV in every store for months. This TV was absolutely the best choice when it comes to picture quality and price. In my opinion, nothing compares. I read so many good reviews on this site and now I know why."

Exactly what you need Date: January 13, 2009
Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, Durable, Exceeded expectations, Convenient, Easy to use, elegant, wow

"I have now owned the 42" Class (41.6" Diagonal) Widescreen VIERA Plasma 720p HDTV for one month. I am very pleased with the picture quality and find the motion at high speed and low speed to be extremely precise. There are no jagged lines or blotchy solid fields either. I have seen other comparable plasmas purport to not have these issues but that is simply not true. The VIERA class plasma put head to head with anything in its class in my opinion is a waste of time it will come up on top time after time. I will always come back to this line for the Quality, Precision, and forethought that Panasonic puts into their products. I own several products by Panasonic and Technics all ranging in a vast time line and they all work just as good now as the first day they were powered up.

Overall: This TV fulfills everything needed for the average to high end users with out trying to sell you something you won’t need. I enjoy using the SD card slot; it provides an easy way to show pictures in excellent definition. I expect to see the same great performance in this plasma as I get now in the latter life of it. Thanks Panasonic!

Great HDTV Date: January 10, 2009
Pros: Inexpensive, Exceeded expectations, Easy to use, great picture

""The picture quality and the ease of use exceed all expectations . With the blueray 1080p it looks stunning. The contrast is sharp with the darkest darks and realistic brights. Also, this plasma handles the fast speeds of racing games in XBOX 360 very well. The sound from the 2 speakers is pretty good.""

Just Perfect Date: January 5, 2009
Pros: Inexpensive, Exceeded expectations, Easy to use

"After months of reviews and deliberations I finally made my decision "Panasonic". This TV gives you everything you want or close too at a great price. The first thing I do when I get a new TV is recalibrate the colors, this is the first TV that I have owned, and I have owned a few, that on calibration using ( Video Essentials Blue Ray version ) got all the colors spot on, I used Picture Mode "Cinema" with Color Temperature "Normal". The Final results were outstanding, I ran Harry Potters "Order of the Phoenix" because of its dark scenes, it performed superb, blacks and shadow were just the best and colors spectacular. This TV is a must at the price, if I had any thing negative to say it would be that I can't personalize the"Input Labels" and that the labels that they do provide does not include "Satellite", but I feel I'm getting a little picky. This is one awesome TV, you can't go wrong."

A/R filter ruins TV Date: December 13, 2008
Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, Easy to use
Cons: Did not meet expectations, a/r filter

"My number one pet peeve with this Plasma and I guess all Panasonic's now is the anti-reflective "filter" as they call it. I thought it was an internal filter like a comb filter. It is really a screen coating they use and goes over the outer glass panel of the Plasma or a plastic panel itself that goes over the glass.

Does the job to reduce reflections but takes away from the vibrant picture of a true plasma. You have to turn up the brightness to get a good picture and is still not as good as through pure glass. Check out an old HDCRT if you know someone who has one. You will see a true picture. When was the last time you saw a CRT with anti-reflective coating? Never.

Plus, the screen coating is very susceptible to scratches or solvents, which is bad. The manual states to use a cleaning cloth and then very softly.

You would think they would provide one that wont scratch the surface. If they had left the glass screen alone you could clean it like a CRT with windex or whatever.

The early generation Plasmas before A/R coating had a much superior picture.

Response from Panasonic: By Panasonic, Service & Technology, December 19, 2008
Panasonic Plasmas have always had front glass filters . The purpose of this piece of glass is to reduce external glare and reflection, as well as the glare produced by the panel itself.

The front glass filter serves as a protective barrier for the plasma glass itself. Plasma technology is different from CTR technology. The glass on the panel itself needs to be thinner than the glass on a CRT.

The front glass should only be cleaned with a soft, microfiber cloth. In cases where necessary, a mild, water soluble detergent should be used.

"I purchased this TV 3 weeks ago and I love it. Looks great hooked up to me PC via hdmi-dvi cable. Like how it recognizes and switches to whatever device you have hooked up when it turns on. Awesome colors. Power button a little hard to find in dark but thats the most of my complaints."

Great Tv Date: November 9, 2008
Pros: Durable, Exceeded expectations, Convenient, Easy to use
Cons: no exact info on if it fits vesa

"I purchased this TV a few days ago and I have to admit it is awesome. The HD is clear and the hook up are easy. The sound from the 2 speakers is actually pretty good to me and I was scared of this because a lot of people had said the sound could be better. I already bought surround sound with it but I was curious on how the original speakers were on the TV and they worked just fine.

The only thing I guess that doesn't make this TV a perfect 5 for me is because I can't find anywhere if this TV is actually able to fit VESA mounts or not yet, I like being able to get things quickly, so I guess you can call me impatient ha ha. But from the looks of people have said that this TV is VESA and I have seen a couple reviews from people saying this isn't so until I am able to find this out for sure, this tv stays at a 4.

I still recommend this TV to all though.

Pros: Exceeded expectations
Cons: Expensive

"I have owned this television for a bit over a month now. I get HD service from Comcast, which is only available in 1080i, and it looks fantastic. My PS3 plays games and movies in 1080p, and it looks stunning. The contrast is sharp with the darkest darks and realistic (not simply blinding) brights. Also, this plasma handles the fast speeds of racing games very well. I'm not trying to knock LCD, as I own one that I like very much, but I now feel plasma speeds are noticable and a good thing to consider if you play fast moving video games or watch action movies and such."

Pros: Inexpensive, Exceeded expectations, Convenient, Easy to use
Cons: 41.6" not really 42"

"My first HDTV and will probably stay my only TV for several years. The only "cons" on this TV is that's not a full 42", only 41.6", but who care about 0.4" when the picture quality and the ease of use exceed all expectations? I think that's the best buy I made for my home theater, with the Panasonic Blu-Ray player. Go buy one if you don't have yours yet."

"This is the first tv that I have bought in about 20 years. Boy! Am I glad I waited. This Tv even with normal satellite broadcast are as clear as a photograph. I am looking forward to HD broadcast.
I also bought a Panasonic home theatre system and with it the sound and picture is unbeatable.
The built in speakers as far as I am cocerned left me wanting more. So, the home theatre system.
Yup, would recommend this system to anyone.
