"Taking into account the budget needed for this camera, it is considered an almost perfect choice. The accessories collection could be larger, but if you search a little bit, you will find a few more filters and lenses compatible with FZ28. The video is magnificent, while the audio is not what I expected.
I would definitely recommend it to any amateur photographer who would like to experiment with a camera as close as it can be to a dSLR."

"I purchased this camera early in 2009 anticipating a trip to Europe. I have had a number of different digital cameras from different manufacturers - this one gives you the best performance for the money. I shot some 3200 pictures in Europe in early summer and the camera performed quite well. Bright sun light can be a problem so use the lens shield. The controls can be a bit quirky so if you are planning to use this for something special, get it early and practice. Movies are good but not as high-quality as I have seen on other cameras in this price range/ feature. The sensor can easily be over-whelmed in low light in movie mode. The camera performs very well in low light although there were some instances where a little more light gathering capability would be helpful in getting a crisp picture. the RAW feature is nice but frankly its hard to tell the difference - I took a number of back-to-back shots and the camera's rendering in normal mode is quite acceptable. having the feature is nice but I found myself not using it much - pictures take up twice as much or more space in RAW mode as well. Battery life is outstanding and outlives most daily photo shoots. All in all, you won't find a camera for the money."

"Match all the features this camera has verses other cameras in the same price range and you will have to buy this one.
The ease of shooting as well as the multiple configurations you can adapt to the photos makes this one not only easy but also fun to use.
Buy it!"

"The camera is a definite step up from the compact point and shoot category in terms of features, functionality and image quality. (I own several P&S and a couple of older SLRs) The menu is simple and intuitive. The lightweight is a welcome advantage when carrying it. The viewfinder is a little on the small side but will probably be used infrequently as the LCD is excellent. The viewfinder works great when you need it and provides an amazing amount of information - I can easily use it wearing my glasses.I was amazed at the quality of the pictures even using the digital zoom (72X magnification!) - I got pictures that I could never get with compact P&S and the quality was very good. Pictures in the normal optical range are amazing and the image stabilization is great. I am having a blast playing with all the features - It is just a FUN camera! I use it a lot more than I thought I would because it is so easy and fun. My only regret is that I didn't buy it sooner!"
