Great Television
|
Date: August 9, 2009

Pros: Exceeded expectations, Convenient, Easy to use
Cons: finger prints difficult to remove
"I spent months researching televisions before I finally settled on the G10 54". It's been a pleasure to own. The picture quality is great, and even better with HD or BluRay. We have the TV in a very bright room, and we have no problems seeing the screen (I was concerned about this issue). I bought the TV at a substantial discount off retail, with white glove delivery, which I would recommend. No problems with heat (although we do live in NE). Electricity consumption is significant, at 700 watts. The only downside was that I haven't been able to remove some fingerprints left on the screen during delivery, but I can't see them when the TV is on. Good luck!"

Pros: Inexpensive, Exceeded expectations
Cons: none
"Readers,
If you are reading this, I assume your in the market for a flat panel television. First, do yourself a favor and limit your selections to Plasmas. Plasmas has the Best Black. Try to play the same blue ray on a plasma & then do the same with a LCD. There is no comparison. The black scenes on a LCD looks like a glob of black. Can not see the details nor the levels of black. Next is realism. Plasmas reproduction looks more life like than LCD. Most displays in stores will show you a factory's DVD with flowers & waterfalls. but when you watch people, place & things moving together, the Plasma does this better. Also, When a entire LCD industry comes up with 120mhz, 240mhz, Motionflow, etc.... features, they did this to compete with the quality of the Plasma. The Plasma does not have these trailing images to deal with. Liquid vs. Lights, The liquid can not keep up the the quick action images.
Past Concerns: (Burnt-ins, Temperature, Longevity) None of these are issues now. Burnt-in, Are you going to watch ESPN OR CNN all day? And I mean ALL DAY. if so then don't get this tv. Temperature, Same as LCD, ok, Maybe 3 degrees higher. I assume you have AC in your house, unless you plan to use this in the Barn. Not an issue, and actually may be a plus if you live up North. Longevity, Its rated @ 60,000 hours, so watch tv for 10 hours a day for 16.5 years. I think you will want a new tv by then.
With all that said and Panasonic is the leader in Plasma, You will have no regrets with any of the G10 series. Great price & quality. I hope this helps."
