LET'S TELL THE TRUTH!!!
Date:November 28, 2011
Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, Easy to use, Exceeded expectations, for the price ! - this is a best buy !!!
Cons: Poor documentation, the documentation isn't really that bad !, a "noob" may have trouble with the documentation ?
"First of all ! The Guy who said that there is "NO EJECT BUTTON ON THE UNIT"! IS WRONG !!! On the top right hand side is the "EJECT" Button. On the top left side is the ON/OFF Button.
And HE gave this UNIT a 1 Star for EASE of Use - THAT's WRONG. This Unit is VERY EASY TO USE, maybe the user is not so easy to use?
And again HE gave the UNIT a 1 Star for FEATURES - THAT's ALSO WRONG. *** WHAT DO YOU EXPECT *** FROM AN UNDER FIFTY DOLLARS UNIT ? - ALL THE FEATURES THAT COME N A $200 UNIT ???
ALL THE FEATURES THAT YOU NEED ARE THERE. AND IT EVEN COMES WITH AN USB REC. STSTEM !!!
THIS IS THE BEST UNIT FOR UNDER FIFTY BUCKS ! - BUY IT !!!!!"

Amazing Color Reproduction!
Date:March 24, 2013
Pros: Inexpensive, Compact, Easy to use, Convenient, amazing color reproduction yields accurate colors, reads divx xvid .avi files > 4 gb from usb drives
Cons: no 'equaliser' / 'control' for sound, image lacks fine details, no volume control, lacks .wma and mpeg1 files' support
"Panasonic products never disappoint. Period.
I state this based on my experience with this fantastic DVD player 'Panasonic DVD-S485' which I bought for a price of local equivalent of 38 US$.
Features: In a nutshell, this is a very simple and affordable Standard Definition DVD/DivX player. It has a USB 2.0 port, Composite, Component, 5.1 channel analog-audio and a Coaxial outputs. 'DVD-S485' is the same model 'DVD-S48' available in the US except that
1) the former reads DivX & XviD encoded AVI files &
2) it reads only Region-5 DVDs.
Construction: This player's very easy to use and also lightweight. It has all the basic features one needs in a DVD Player. It's black in color and has a black sharp edged body with a faded Panasonic logo in the middle of the front part of the unit.
Video Performance: Probably the greatest advantage of this product is its color reproduction while playing DivX files or DVDs. When I connect the player to a high quality TV and play Blu-Ray Rip AVI files, I find the resulting colors to be so superior that it rivals Blu-Ray discs' deep colors. For example, after setting right the options in the Video Menu, the dark blue color of the skies during the night battle scenes in LOTR II & III are just spectacular. No video player at this price range would reproduce such fantastic colors! Kudos to Panasonic for using a superb color processor of Blu-Ray dics player standards. However the image lacks fine details that can be found in Philips DVD Player. It has other negative points too, but considering the price, I couldn't have asked for more. .
This is not the first Panasonic product to impress me. I own a Panasonic CRT TV which is way better than Sony. Panasonic Plasmas are rathes the highest on any review website and this bears testimony to the fact that the 'image processing' technology of Panasonic is superior to other brands. I'd encourage readers to try Panasonic products over other brands. Not just becasue of their products' quality and durability but also due to their competitive pricing."

EJECT BUTTON
Date:October 1, 2011
Pros: Inexpensive
"ON/OFF BUTTON AND EJECT BUTTON ARE LOCATED AT UPPER CORNERS OF FACEPLATE. NOT MARKED BUT ON MINE THEY EXIST. DOES WHAT I EXPECTED WHICH WAS TO SIMPLY PLAYBACK CDS AS STRAIGHT CD CHANGERS/PLAYERS SEEM HARD TO FIND FOR MINOR DOLLARS."

No Eject Button On The Unit??
Date:August 18, 2011
Pros: Inexpensive, Compact
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Difficult to use
"While I understand that this would be a no-frills DVD player based on price, I am still shocked to see that there's no Eject Button on the unit itself. It's much more often that the remote (with Eject Button) is sitting on a table, etc.; so when you approach the unit to remove the disk, there's no button on it to do so. Would not recommend for this simple reason."
